Evidence-based planning for and distribution of health care professionals \u2014 now and in the future \u2014 are vital parts of making sure Canadians can access health care services when and where they need them.<br \/><br \/>Personal support workers (PSWs) <br \/>Personal support workers (PSWs) are an important part of the health workforce, caring for some of Canada\u2019s most vulnerable populations. However, the lack of data on this group of workers hinders the ability of decision-makers both to understand their role in health care and to undertake evidence-informed workforce planning.
